Ever since Bayonetta was released in 2010, fans have been eager for a sequel, but now, in 2012, there is still no word of one being in production. However, a Japanese trailer has revealed that Bayonetta will be a playable character in the upcoming game Anarchy Reigns.
Anarchy Reigns is an online multiplayer fighting game that will be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on the 3rd of July in America and on the 6th of July in Europe. The game features many characters from Platinum Games first title MadWorld, as well as some new characters and of course Bayonetta.
Bayonetta is the story of a mysterious and slutty witch who essentially removes all her clothes to defeat tougher bad guys. Despite the, probably accurate, claims that it was sexist and demeaning to woman, the game did pretty well and received positive reviews from critics, myself included. The gameplay is amazing, it’s visually stunning and the story is interesting and just complicated enough to make it stick in your head. In essence it’s a more over the top Devil May Cry game, which isn’t surprising since they share the same creator.
There is massive demand for a sequel to Bayonetta. Whether or not one will ever materialise is still unknown, but at least fans can get another chance to play as the witch in Anarchy Reigns and the gameplay, moves and character design look identical to the ones from the game, though they may be a little tamer with the nudity. However, the character will be available only as a preorder bonus, which means that you have to preorder the game to choose her as a playable character. So keep that in mind before you buy the game.
What do you think? Are you happy she will be in the game? Do you like the character? Would you prefer a Bayonetta sequel? Are you sick of waiting for the premiere of the new season of Spartacus? Well wait no longer.
Rather than keep fans in suspense, for less than a week in some cases, Starz have put the entire first episode of Spartacus: Vengence online. So check out the trailer below and then, if you like it, head over to the Starz website and take a look at the episode. Unless, you live outside of America, like me. Unfortunately, the video is not available everywhere, but that doesn’t mean Starz loves it’s non-America fans any less. Though they are fine with making us wait.

A Superman sized kick in the teeth for anyone that’s been paying to play DC Universe Online, as Sony announce it will soon be free to play.
On the 1st of November DC Universe Online will have two new modes, free play and Premium. Free play, as the name suggests, doesn’t cost a thing, but has no voice chat and a limited number of character spaces and inventory slots. For a one off payment of five dollars, or the equivalent of five dollars, players can upgrade to a Premium account, this means voice chat and more slots. Some people may be used to paying and could want to continue, as crazy as that sounds, this will be an option, it’s called a Legendary account. With that you can the same features that players are currently enjoying, including the ability to buy more inventory slots. Legendary mode costs 15 dollars a month.
Before it came out, I thought DC Universe Online sounded amazing, but I decided not to buy it when I heard it cost a monthly fee. Bringing on a free play mode, with an optional upgrade, is a great way to bring on people that, like me, didn’t want to, or couldn’t, afford to invest so much into a game. In my opinion, it’s going to get some fans through the door.
What do you think? Are you already playing DC Universe Online? Did you not buy it due to the cost? Would you get it for the free play feature? Let me know by voting and leaving a comment below. Also don’t forget to subscribe/follow and click the like button.
Earlier today a trailer for the upcoming Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, was leaked to the internet. Don’t get too excited, it was quickly taken down, but not before some lucky fans got a look at it. There are rumours of what happened in the trailer, but regardless of the reliability of the myths, we’ll all get a chance to see the trailer his Friday.
It has been reported that a trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will play before the last Harry Potter film, which comes out this Friday, the 15th of July. As if you needed another reason to go see Harry Potter. However, it’s uncertain if this will be the case worldwide, but don’t worry as a little thing called the internet saves the day. The trailer will no doubt be available online either on Friday or the days following.
Now on to the rumours, according to fans the trailer shows clips from the first two movies, including the scene were Bruce Wayne meets Ra’s al Ghul. A possible plot point, hinted at in the trailer, is that Wayne has quit being Batman and, though Gotham City may need him, Bruce no longer feels he can play the part. Also shown in the trailer is Bane, who is the films main antagonist. Having not seen the trailer myself, I do have my doubts, but whether or not the rumours are true I’m still excited about this movie.
The official movie poster was also revealed (above). I can’t help notice that it’s very similar to the poster for Batman Begins (right). This could be a coincidence, but I think it was done on purpose. It shows the change in tone from were it started to were it ends. Great creative decision, in my opinion.
What do you think? Do you like the poster? Did you see the trailer? Let me know by voting and leaving a comment below.
Today the PlayStation Network (PSN) has finally gone back online.
After being down for nearly four weeks, Sony has launched the new and improved PSN. This version is supposedly much more secure and up-to-date than the previous version. I wouldn’t know, as I am still unable to log on. There seems to be some problems already, as some people in my region have been able to log on, while others have not. I’m not really worried about it, as I’m sure it will be sorted out within 24 hours.
The system will not be entirely restored at first, but rather phased in over time. At first online play will be brought back and then gradually the rest, concluding with the PlayStation Store. All users will have to change their passwords once they are back online and people worried about identity theft will be offered free subscription to companies that can help protect against this.
Lastly a reward will be given to all users to compensate for not running out and buying an Xbox while the network was down. This reward will be different in each region and should be officially announced in the coming days. Let’s all cross our fingers and hope our gift is an Xbox.

The other day I read someone’s blog and they had written about all the things they’d done when WordPress was down a while ago. One of the things they had mentioned was adopting a word. The idea is that, in a desperate attempt to save the English language, you make a promise to revive an uncommon word by using it as often as possible. Inspired by this, and fuelled by my anger over the new words that were recently added to the dictionary, I decided to give it a go.
At first I browsed the internet for uncommon words. I found one that I liked; it meant ‘the first person you see after you leave your house’. I was going to pick it, but I couldn’t find it in my dictionary and though I’m sure it’s a real word, I decided not to use it. Naturally, I thought the simpler way would be to just look through the dictionary until I found one I liked, however I soon realised that there are a lot more common words than uncommon ones (obviously). Eventually, in the ‘L’ section, I found a word I liked. The word is ‘loquacious’ and means talkative. It comes from the Latin word for speak, which is ‘loqui’. When used as a noun loquacious becomes loquacity as in ‘I prefer tongue tied knowledge to ignorant loquacity’.
I will now attempt to use the word loquacious as often as I can and hopefully it will spread and become part of normal speech. Now I urge you to, not only use the word loquacious, but also find an uncommon word and adopt it. Think of the future. Next time the dictionary is updated poor little loquacious could be out on its ear. We must save the words before it’s too late.
What do you think? Will you save a word from extinction? Is loquacious your new favourite word? Let me know by leaving a comment and voting below. Also don’t forget to subscribe.
A few months ago, Criminal Minds fans were devastated by the sudden departure of AJ Cook who played JJ, Jenifer Jareau, one of the primary female characters on the show. Cook was let go in an attempt to prevent the show from becoming stale. However, reactions were extremely negative, as JJ is a fan favourite. After hearing that over 60,000 people had signed an online petition to bring her back, the studio rehired Cook, who said she was hurt after being let go but found the fan reaction very comforting.
Cook wasn’t the only cast member to be pushed off the show, Paget Brewster, who plays Emily Prentiss, was also removed from the show. However, she was given the option to stay on as a recurring character rather than a series regular. Her final episode was ‘Lauren’ which still hasn’t aired in some countries, including mine, so I won’t spoil it.
JJ will be returning as a series regular at the start of next season, but she says that both her and her character have changed due to the experience of leaving. Being kicked off the show was a ‘wakeup call’ to just how harsh the entertainment industry can be. The ‘new JJ’ will be more serious and mature but don’t worry ‘she still has heart’.
Brewster has also been offered the chance to return, whether it’s as a series regular or not isn’t clear. After leaving the show, she did a pilot for a different show. If the show doesn’t get picked up she may return, but if it does chances are Prentiss has left the building.
Are you happy that JJ is returning? Do you want Prentiss to come back? Is this the end for Rachel Nichols character, Ashley Seaver? What do you think? Let me know by voting and leaving a comment below. Also don’t forget to subscribe.
A few months after a movie leaves cinemas it’s released on DVD and Blu-ray. I’m the type of person that will watch a film in the cinema and buy it, if I liked it, when it comes out on DVD/Blu-ray. However, I’ve heard people say, many times, that some movies are the ‘wait for the DVD’ kind of movie. My theories always been, if I don’t want to see it in cinema I won’t want to see it on DVD. Sure I’ll watch it if someone wants me too, I’m open minded, but I’m not going to go out and buy something I didn’t think was worth €7 to begin with.
The argument is that when you have it on DVD you can watch it as many times as you want, but what if you only want to watch it once. It might suck, or you could be one of those people that won’t sit through the same movie twice in one lifetime. Now you have this DVD, that you might have paid €15 on, and you’re never going to watch it again. You may like it, in which case well done, you’re magic 8 ball has done you well.
Some people ‘test drive’ the film online, but quality could be really bad and who wants to watch a movie were the voices might not be in sync. Call me old fashioned, but is it really that hard to pay the €7 for the cinema ticket? I love the cinema, I can’t always afford to go (I am a student after all), but I pick out movies that I’m really excited about and go see them. If it’s as good as I thought it would be, I get the DVD or Blu-ray. Also, there’s no shame in waiting for the prices to go down, you’ve been patient for months you can last a bit longer.
So the question here is; Watch in cinema or wait for the DVD/Blu-ray? You decide by voting and leaving a comment below. Also don’t forget to subscribe.
Capcom has released a new trailer for the upcoming 3DS game, Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D. This trailer shows a lot more action than the first one and announces some new features.
The game is not like other Resident Evil games, it has no story. The only purpose of this game is killing and surviving. The idea comes from the Mercenaries mini-game that is unlocked after completing the 4th and 5th Resident Evil games. The aim of the mini-game is to kill as many ‘zombies’ as you can before the time runs out. Mercenaries was well received by fans and now it’s time for it to get its own game.
The game mainly uses the levels from the Mercenaries mini-game. However, new features have been added to make the game more fast paced. These include; being able to walk and shoot and being able to change weapons and use items with one touch. The game makes use of the bottom touch screen, allowing players to heal and use other items by pressing the screen.
Players will also be able to upgrade their characters ‘skills’, for example; how resistant they are to instant kill attacks. So far the playable characters are; Chris Redfield, Hunk, Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, Jack Krauser and Claire Redfield. It is unclear whether or not more will be introduced.
The game will hit shelves sometime this summer; an exact date has yet to be released. The game features online and offline modes, a tutorial mode and contains a playable demo for Resident Evil: Revelations.
What do you think? Is this game just a waste of time? Does 3D make everything better? Which are you more excited about Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D or Resident Evil: Revelations? Let me know by voting and leaving a comment below. Check out the trailer and don’t forget to subscribe.
