Getting hooked on a TV show can be a traumatic experience, but don’t worry there are a number of solutions to this, very real, problem.
Poke your eyes out
Sometimes the direct approach is the best and by poking out your eyes you also get the added bonus of not having to pay for contact lenses or glasses, if you need them, and you get to bring your dog into places, like restaurants, were dogs wouldn’t normally be allowed. Another advantage is that no longer will you have to worry about some stranger coming up and poking your eyes out, it’s already done and you’ve saved them the time.
Break the TV
No TV = no problem, right? If, on a lazy Saturday night, you decide to put your fist through the screen, in an attempt to encourage Ted to hurry up and get to the point, then the temptation is cut off at the source, but seriously come on Ted this information is irrelevant to how you actually met their mother don’t toy with me.
Leave the remote somewhere far away
Next time you leave the country, why not take the remote with you and don’t worry about bringing it back. Most people won’t sit through another flight just to change the channel and don’t worry about the buttons on the TV you won’t think of that, you never do (until you’ve torn the how apart looking).
Burn the entire cast
Well sure there are reruns, but is it ever really the same?
Promise yourself a gift in return for stopping
The best incentive to do anything is getting a reward. So, in exchange for cutting back on your addiction, why not buy yourself the box set? It’s so not the same thing as watching it on TV, this time you are in control and that means it can’t be bad.
Remember getting addicted to a TV program is a natural thing and is not your fault. If you need further support then I suggest giving up. Though I don’t advice you to try any of the methods listed, I do want to know have you ever, or do you now, have a show that you just have to see? What is/was it? After 31 years of making music American rock band R.E.M. have announced that they are calling it a day.
The news was announced today on the bands official website. In the statement they thank fans and assure that this is a decision they came to together and was not the result of any falling out.
‘To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band. We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening.’
They go on to explain that they came to the decision when they finished putting together their greatest hits album and sat down and said ‘what’s next’. This announcement will no doubt come as a shock to fans, but the band hopes that everyone understands that it was time for it to come to an end. ‘I hope our fans realize this wasn’t an easy decision; but all things must end, and we wanted to do it right, to do it our way’.
The full statement can be found at the official site HERE.

Whether you like him or not, you’ve probably heard of Justin Bieber and now you have the chance to see the story of his life in eye popping 3D, this could be the scariest movie I’ve ever heard of.
Justin Bieber’s rise to fame has been fast and annoying, but with such a large fan base, that may try kill me if I make too many punches, I’ll keep the blows above the belt. This means that I’m not going to talk about how somehow he has deified the laws of puberty or the fact that he always sings about love despite not having hit puberty yet. No really I don’t mind co-inhabiting the same planet as him, I’m just not a fan but he has more than enough blogger fans so it’s not much of a loss for him.
Years ago, if a singer wanted to be in a movie they had to act, then Miley Cyrus released a concert documentary and a new trend was born, a trend that has the power to make or break junior celebrities, as proven by it causing a major blow to the Jonas Brothers’ career when their movie flopped. Will this movie increase Bieber fever or will a cure finally be found? Unfortunately, it looks like the movie will be a success. The editors deserve all the credit as they found a way to make Bieber and his family come out smelling like roses, despite the fact that his mother has openly made anti-Semitic statements against a Jewish talent agent, she ‘prayed’ that her son would not be represented by him due to his religion. Bieber drew criticism to himself when he said, that he does get attention from girls because he’s famous, but he’d get it anyway because he’s so good looking.
