Since the end of the first film, everything appears to be going great for Peter Parker and his alter-ego Spider-Man. He’s graduating from high school and taking down mobsters, but even though it looks like his life is perfect he’s still haunted by the memory of Gwen Stacy’s father and the promise that he made and broke. (more…)
Okay so there is a lot of stuff packed into this trailer, but will the movie feel as crowded?
The last time we had a Spider-Man movie with this many villains it led to the entire franchise being rebooted, so it’s a little surprising to see so many crammed into this sequel. Except this time it looks like there may be a good plan behind it and it was mentioned in the first film.
Oscorp seems to be at the centre of all things superpower related. Peter Parker was bitten by one of their genetically altered spiders and now it looks like the company may be responsible for not only these villains, but future ones as well.
In the above still from the trailer you can see what looks like robotic wings and tentacles, which will likely belong to Vulture and Doctor Octopus in future Spider-Man films. This level of planning makes up for a lot of the worries about the overcrowded roster of villains as it seems like Harry Osborn, who will be the Green Goblin, is sort of a ring leader with Rhino and Electro almost as henchmen.
Though it’s a lot more organised than the three random villains from the third Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie, it is a little disappointing that Jamie Fox’s Electro doesn’t seem to be the main bad guy despite being at the centre of the ad campaign.
Dane Dehaan’s version of Harry Osborn has apparently skipped his dad to take on the title, which could mean that this time it will be the father avenging his son rather than the other way around. The big question is which one will kill Gwen Stacy?
There have been a number of other interesting sightings in the trailer. The above picture may or may not be Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat nothing is really confirmed about who Felicity Jones is playing.
Then there is this strange part that is a little confusing. If Shailene Woodley was cut from the film then why is she still in the trailer? Maybe she’ll just be ‘girl who almost gets crushed by car’ rather than the much more well known character Mary Jane Watson.

Fans of Legendary Pictures’ Trick ‘r Treat have been waiting a long time for this news and it is official, a sequel is in the works.
The sequel was announced at a special screening of the first film and will be in the capable hands of Michael Dougherty who both wrote and directed the original.
Though a release date hasn’t been set yet, fans can now look forward to another visit from Sam.

Check out the latest trailer for the upcoming sequel to Anchorman.
The role of Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been cast, but will the new red head be able to compete with Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy?
After some negotiating the part of MJ Watson was given to Shailene Woodley, who previously played one of George Clooney’s daughters in the Descendants and had a leading role in The Secret Life of an American Teenager.
It initially seemed that scheduling issues would force Woodley to choose between The Amazing Spider-man and, her upcoming film, Divergent, but this turned out not to be an issue as Mary Jane will not be a prominent part of the Spider-Man sequel. However, Woodley would play a bigger part in the third film, which is even more evidence that the death of Gwen Stacy will play out in the second instalment.
Oh Peter, if only you had listened to Gwen’s father instead of just pretending you were going to listen to avoid dealing with Gwen’s grief.
What do you think? Are you a Spider-Man fan? Do you think Woodley will be able to compete with Emma Stone (Wood versus Stone)? Which of Spidey’s love interests is your favourite, Gwen or MJ? Liam Neeson is about to show even more people why he shouldn’t be messed with in the upcoming sequel to the 2008 film Taken.
A trailer for the film has been released as well as some details about the plot. This time around Neeson’s ex-wife will be the one who is taken and the culprit is the son of one of the men killed in the first film. The story is set one year after the events of the previous film.
Not surprisingly the trailer shows that this instalment will be no less action packed than the first, but will it also live up to the success of its predecessor? Though it paints an exciting picture the trailer shows no signs of any emotional or intellectual depth, one of the main criticisms of the first. However, seeing as Taken was a huge success in spite of this, it may be a mistake to change something that clearly isn’t broken.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been eight years since Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgundy hit cinemas and now, just as the near constant quoting was getting old, a sequel is announced.
Will Ferrell made a surprise appearance on the Conan O’Brien show, as Ron Burgundy, where he announced that the long awaited sequel was finally on its way. Over the years, Ferrell has expressed interest in making a sequel to the hit comedy, but he didn’t own the rights and was unable to get the studio to agree, until now.
However, this may not be a good thing. Fans have been waiting for this ever since the credits rolled on number one, so expectations are going to be pretty high. Some of the best films around are great because they were allowed to stand alone, a sequel would have ruined them. That’s not to say all sequels are bad, and this one could be great, but knowing when to stop is a trait that far few people in Hollywood seem to have.
As someone that enjoyed the first movie and has been listening to quotes from it for years, I do hope, particularly for the people who really love this film, that the sequel lives up to their, undoubtedly high, expectation.
What do you think? Are you happy they are finally making the sequel? Do you think that it will live up to the original? Do you annoy your friends by quoting the movie at least once an hour? Ever since Bayonetta was released in 2010, fans have been eager for a sequel, but now, in 2012, there is still no word of one being in production. However, a Japanese trailer has revealed that Bayonetta will be a playable character in the upcoming game Anarchy Reigns.
Anarchy Reigns is an online multiplayer fighting game that will be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on the 3rd of July in America and on the 6th of July in Europe. The game features many characters from Platinum Games first title MadWorld, as well as some new characters and of course Bayonetta.
Bayonetta is the story of a mysterious and slutty witch who essentially removes all her clothes to defeat tougher bad guys. Despite the, probably accurate, claims that it was sexist and demeaning to woman, the game did pretty well and received positive reviews from critics, myself included. The gameplay is amazing, it’s visually stunning and the story is interesting and just complicated enough to make it stick in your head. In essence it’s a more over the top Devil May Cry game, which isn’t surprising since they share the same creator.
There is massive demand for a sequel to Bayonetta. Whether or not one will ever materialise is still unknown, but at least fans can get another chance to play as the witch in Anarchy Reigns and the gameplay, moves and character design look identical to the ones from the game, though they may be a little tamer with the nudity. However, the character will be available only as a preorder bonus, which means that you have to preorder the game to choose her as a playable character. So keep that in mind before you buy the game.
What do you think? Are you happy she will be in the game? Do you like the character? Would you prefer a Bayonetta sequel? Say what you want about the Pokémon franchise, but no one can deny the greatness of the game series and now two new additions have been announced; Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2.
I’ll admit it’s been a while since I last played a Pokémon game, but they haven’t changed all that much. The only major difference is the Pokémon, which are now completely unknown to me since I gave up watching the TV show so many years ago. Despite the absence of Pokémon related stuff in my life over the last few years, I would gladly play the games because, let’s just face it, they’re really fun.
Yesterday, IGN broke the news that, in an unusual move, another pair of games will be released in the fifth generation of Pokémon games. The games will be released simultaneously in Japan this summer and no other release dates have been announced yet. However, past games would suggest it will be less than a year before it hits North America, Europe and the rest of the world. Funnily enough, the games are coming out on Nintendo DS, not the 3DS. No word on why this is, but it’s probably just to appeal to a wider audience of Pokémon fans.
The names have drawn some attention and could be hinting at being direct sequels to Pokémon Black and Pokémon White. If this is the case it would be a first for the series which consists of standalone titles. It would be really interesting to see, but it’s hard to imagine it being pulled off. Would you start with the Pokémon you had in Black and White? Is that even possible? I don’t know, but if they were sequels then that would be an important element. Maybe they have a way to train your Pokémon over or the new game could be some kind of expansion pack. It’s all speculation at this point, but it is possible.
What do you think? Are you a Pokémon fan? Which Pokémon game did you play last? Did you, like me, start all the way back at red and blue? Let me know by voting and leaving a comment below, also don’t forget to click the like button, if you like this post, and subscribe/follow.
Insidious was one of the most profitable films of 2011, costing only $1.5 million to make and grossing over $100 million worldwide. The movie was also received extremely well by critics, so it isn’t a major surprise that a sequel is on the horizon, but will the sequel live up to the original or is this another case of Hollywood greed?
Insidious was written by Leigh Whannel, who also had a role in the film, and was directed by James Wan, both are returning to these roles for the sequel. This is a good sign for the quality of the sequel, but it still has not been confirmed whether or not any of the characters from the first film will return. Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne starred in the film and neither has been confirmed to have any involvement in the sequel. Though it is entirely possible that they will be in the film, there is a chance the story could be unrelated to the original film, think Mirrors and Mirrors 2.
Hopefully, more information will be released soon, until then all we can do is let our imaginations run wild and preemptively catch up on the sleep that will be lost the nights after the films release.
