Star Wars Episode VII Writer Revealed
If living with your head under a rock you have been then know about Star Wars episode VII you will not, otherwise you probably know that over a week ago Disney bought Lucasfilm and with it the rights to the Star Wars franchise. Along with the purchase they announced that another Star Wars trilogy (episodes VII, VIII and IX) is on the way and now we know who will be writing the next instalment.
Along time ago in the galaxy known as Hollywood George Lucas began to speak of an extended Star Wars universe, one that included both prequels and sequels to the original three films. Over the years little Yoda sized pieces of information would leak, but, now that we are finally going to get to see these sequels, will they be what Lucas envisioned or will they be something completely different?
Fans can sleep easy, because the screenplay for episode VII will be written by Michael Arndt, but George Lucas will be meeting with Arndt to discuss the story. This may be the best of both worlds; Lucas is the creative force behind Star Wars, but it’s no secret that his writing has slipped lately. Arndt previous work includes writing the screenplay for Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine, which he won an Oscar for, he was also Matthew Broderick assistant and when you’ve been through that kind of hell you have a lot of material to write good heart wrenching films.
What do you think? Are you excited about the new Star Wars trilogy? Do you think the story should be continued? What would you like to see happen? Are you just praying that they don’t somehow get Hayden Christensen to appear in it? Let me know by voting and leaving a comment below.
