Epic Mickey 2 Announced
Its official, Epic Mickey 2 has been announced, let the sex jokes begin.
In 2010, Epic Mickey was released exclusively to the Wii. The game followed Mickey Mouse as he was dragged into the Wasteland, a place for forgotten things. Reviews were generally positive, with the main criticism being poor camera control. The game also reintroduced one of Disney’s first ever characters, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, after a long absence. Ownership of Oswald was lost and only bought back by Disney in 2006. However, to the disappointment of some fans, Oswald was not a playable character in the game.
The character, Oswald, predates Mickey Mouse and one of the plot points is that Oswald is jealous of Mickey’s success, so it seems strange to leave him out of the action, but don’t worry as the second time around players will be able to play as Oswald, well player 2 will. The game will feature a co-op mode that will allow the second player to control Oswald, while the first plays as Mickey. Mickey will continue to use the magic paint and paint thinner and Oswald will fight enemies with electricity and is able to fly like a helicopter.
Though the first was only available on the Wii console, number two will be multiplatform, with versions being released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii. This means that there’s no excuse not to buy it, unless you don’t have any of the current generation of consoles or just plain don’t like the game. A PS3 or Xbox 360 version of the first one, to catch up players who don’t have the Wii, would be nice, but let’s face it with the power of the internet you could be an expert in less than five minutes. The game will be released later this year, so there’s not long to wait and hopefully some trailers are on the way too, they should tell us whether or not the game’s worth the investment.
