The Avengers Trailer

Thor, Iron Man, the Hulk and Captain America walk into a bar, what do you get?  One really cool looking movie.

After a long wait, fans of the upcoming Avengers film finally get a proper trailer.  It’s hard not to get excited when you see all the characters, from the movies that led up to this, interacting with each other, then you see Mark Ruffalo and it’s like ‘why are you here?’.

Robert Downey Jr. is great as Tony Stark and seeing him with the other, more serious, characters is really interesting.  He’s the comic relief and really does take over the trailer.  There’s clearly friction between him and Captain America and also Thor and Captain America, who seem to fight each other at one stage.  So basically no one likes Captain America and they should just refreeze him (joking of course).

There’s one line that Tony Stark says to Bruce Banner (aka The Hulk aka Mark Ruffalo) at the end of the trailer is brilliant, ‘Dr. Banner, your work is unparalleled and I’m a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster’.  It’s nice to see that the movie is taking the genre seriously, but isn’t trying to turn it into something dark.  It’s a hard balance to find and they seem to have done it well, learning from Iron Man 2.

The plot follows the team as they try to defeat Loki, Thor’s brother, who has decided to try take over Earth after failing to conquer Asgard in the Thor film.  Tom Hiddleston has reprised his role as Loki.  It has yet to be announced what kind of creatures are helping Loki, but he definitely isn’t working alone.

The movie will hit cinemas in May 2012 (or April 2012 if you live in France, Hong Kong or Hungary).  Check out the trailer (below) and let me know what you think by voting and leaving a comment below.  Also don’t forget to subscribe/follow and click the like button.
