Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Trailer Review
Tomorrow I’ll be sitting in the cinema watching Scream 4, just thought I’d let you know. Be sure to check back tomorrow for a, spoiler free, review of the movie. Anyway, that’s enough about tomorrow; today we’re going to talk about Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.
You may remember that last time I talked about Operation Raccoon City I wasn’t very optimistic. Well the press conference I mentioned has come and gone and yes more information was given.
The game features co-op multiplayer, which we already knew, but we didn’t know that each of these for characters has a different skill set. This means that which character you pick to play as will really have an effect on the game play. This will also play into the fact that different members of the team will have to pair up to perform tasks, like they did in Resident Evil 5 only this time there’s more options. The four playable characters are Vector, Spectre, Beltway and Bertha. Vector is equipped with a cloaking device and Bertha has been one of the main characters in Two and a Half Men since it began.
The game takes place in a sort of ‘what if’ version of Resident Evil 2. You are the bad guys and can do stuff that go against the canon of the series, like kill Leon. I was originally put off by the idea, but I’ve just become so curious about the game that my desire to play has outweighed my will to resist.
Playing as the evil guy has advantages, like you don’t have to worry about tyrant. Actually you do. In this game, tyrant has ‘malfunctioned’ and is not discriminating between who is and is not a target. This means that he’ll kill anyone, including you.
The trailer looks great and has played a part in convincing me to give the game a shot. If nothing else, it will be an amazing, multiplayer, fast paced action game. The game should be infecting a PC, Xbox 360 or PS3 near you this winter.
What do you think? Are you glad they are making this game? Which new Resident Evil game are you most looking forward too? Let me know by voting and leaving a comment below. Don’t forget to subscribe and check back tomorrow for a, spoiler free, review of Scream 4.
