Sequel to the 2009 game Infamous, Infamous 2 will continue the story of hero/villain Cole MacGrath as he battles against the Beast.
The game opens in Empire City, the location of the first game. Cole fights the Beast and barely survives. In an attempt to defeat the Beast Cole travels to New Marias, a fictional city inspired by New Orleans, to get more power. New Marias is the place where the Ray Sphere, the thing that gave him his powers, was created.
One of the major differences between the first and second game, is Cole’s voice. The first images and trailer that were released showed a completely redesigned Cole. This was done to accommodate complains about Cole in the first game and because the voice actor playing him had changed. The actor was changed because the company decided to cast an actor that could do both the voice and the motion capture. Due to the negative fan reaction, Sucker Punch Productions edited the character to look more like his former self, while still kept the new voice actor. It just shows that some companies do care about their fans.
The game offers fans the chance to create and share their own levels. Once shared they will appear randomly as a mission in other player’s games, after completing it there players will then rate it and if the level is rates high enough it will become a featured level that will be available for all players. This potentially makes the endless.
The game will hit shelves on the 7th of June, but, if you pre-book, you could buy the Hero Edition. This comes with a backpack, modelled after Cole’s in the first game, a comic of Infamous #1, a statue of Cole, Infamous 2 soundtrack and some in-game prizes. Keep in mind, this may vary from country to country, but if you ask in the shop they should be able to tell you.
