Captain America: The First Avenger

As you may already know, today will focus on another one of the heroes that will unite in The Avengers movie.  Yesterday it was Thor and today is Captain America, which comes out on the 22nd of July.  A while back I wrote about Captain America, in that post I explored his history in detail and made fun of his adorable boots, by comparing them to the boots of Dora the explorer’s monkey sidekick.  Rather than repeat myself I’ll just link you back to that post, so if you want to read that click the link.

The movie shows Steve Rogers, a potential soldier who is deemed physically unfit to fight in World War II.  He then volunteers to be part of a science experiment known as Project: Rebirth.  The experiment turns him into a super soldier and with the help of his sidekick Bucky, Steve, nicknamed Captain America, fights Red Skull and the other forces of Hitler.

An interesting point of the story is the relationship between Steve and Bucky.  Both orphans, they are like brothers to each other.  Once Steve becomes Captain America, a rift forms in their relationship as Steve suddenly becomes a leader.  The comic story is different, as Bucky is much younger than Steve this jealous does not develop.  Ironically, despite the title of the film, Captain America was not one of the founding members of the Avengers.  The founding members were; The Hulk, Thor, Wasp, Ant-Man and Iron Man.

Until very recently, no footage had been released.  However, 3 million dollars were paid to have a short trailer air during the Super Bowl.  The movie is said to be like Iron Man, but also have some dark elements to it.  Watch the trailer and let me know what you think.  Don’t forget to leave a comment and vote below, if you don’t vote then the forces of darkness, that live inside the minds of the elderly, will try to destroy the very town that you live in.

    • You’re 100% right, but what I meant was that if you were paying that much to air a trailer you’d make sure it was a great trailer. That’s what I meant by was it worth 3 million.
